1. Register your interest. This enables
you to select one of the eight projects, and provide
an assessment of your skills and a vision statement.
It is a similar process to applying for a job, and
helps you become more aware of yourself and what
skills you have to offer. Make sure you provide
your email address so that material can be sent
to you. If you don't receive a reply inside 24 hours,
likely your address was not typed correctly, so
send a message to Merv, that way he gets your correct
email address.
The
eight Design Projects Registration
of Interest
When you register
your interest, you will be sent a more detailed
description of the Design Project you have selected.
You may change to another project if you wish -
just send Merv an email.

2. Follow instructions contained in the
Selection Process and complete the three assessments.
Remember to send a copy of your results to Merv after each
assessment, so he can
discuss them with you in person, and provide you with
useful insights to your learning style and personal
characteristics.

3. Start thinking about the design for
your project. It is strongly recommended that you
take advantage of the visualisation sessions so
that you can learn this amazing process. Sounds
weird, but it is a valuable skill to add to your
Personal Development program.

4. Make your pattern in clay (for plastic
forming) or plasticine (for latex rubber). Try and
make it match the 'picture' you saw during the visualisation
exercises.

7. Apply the finish you want. Remember,
the finishing process is not just applying a single
coat of paint. The materials supplied enable you
to mix a variety of colours and create special effects.
Experiment until you get the most effective finish.

8. Take several digital photos, vary
the angle and lighting. It will enable you to select
the best photo rather than having to manage
with only one.

9. Prepare a background (scan from a magazine,
download from the Web, or take a digital photo)
and add the image of your project to make it look
like it is already made full-size and in location.

10. Send the completed image to Merv when
completed. The image will be projected on a screen
while you make your presentation to the panel. You
must have the actual project as part of your presentation.
Presentation will be mid to late September.
